Jesse Herbert: We’re so proud of our Mom (Dr. Peg Herbert) for undertaking this important work over the last 20 years and creating Help Lesotho. As I head to Lesotho to help celebrate her journey and retirement, I will also be solo travelling the rugged mountains of Lesotho by bicycle and helping to fundraise for an important cause (more below!). As I share on my instagram page Oopsmark the process of preparing for such a cycling adventure, and the trip itself, we’ll be learning a little bit more about how Help Lesotho got started, the work they do, the country of Lesotho and the incredible people who call it home.
The Campaign:
To honour my mom’s retirement, I’ll be raising funds to help children from Lesotho ‘Cross the Finish Line’ and complete their high school education. In Lesotho, exam fees equal to $200 CAD need to be paid each year to register students for their final exams in order to graduate. For many vulnerable families, the cost of graduating is an insurmountable barrier. Your support will enable children who don’t have the funds to complete their final year of high school bridge the gap and finish their journey. For each 200$ we raise, a child can finish high school and focus on their bright dreams for the future.
We all need help to make it to the finish line. Join us in cheering on these bright young minds and making their dreams of graduation come true!
